2013 Intro: Mauldin OT Christopher Sullivan

6'6 250 lb. Christopher Sullivan

Mauldin has had a long line of outstanding offensive lineman over recent years and 2013 OT Christopher Sullivan continues that tradition. Named a North-South All-Star selection recently the 6'6 250 pound offensive tackle has interest from regional schools but is still awaiting his first offer. With a 4.25 GPA Sullivan should spark the interest of plenty of schools late in the process.

Christopher Sullivan Profile

The Mauldin Mavericks have had a rich history of outstanding offensive linemen in recent years. That tradition continues in the 2013 class with offensive tackle Christopher Sullivan. Guys like Taylor Hudson (ECU), Ryan Norton (Clemson), and Jonathan McLaughlin (ECU) have paved the way for the Mavericks offense in recent years.

"It is a great feeling to be part of this Mauldin tradition of great lineman and I am proud to be one of them."

Sullivan has received interest from a number of regional schools thus far but he has yet to receive his first offer. With an ideal frame that will definitely add good weight and above average athleticism and speed Sullivan should be seeing his stock pick up down the stretch. He talked with SCPrepNation.com about it all recently.

"I've been hearing from Furman, The Citadel, Clemson, Army, and Air Force. Out of those I'd have to say The Citadel is recruiting me the hardest right now."

The 2013 prospect has taken some visits already and he talked about what schools he's visited and what he likes best about each one.

"I've been to Clemson and I like their legacy, facilities, and coach staff. With South Carolina I like their coaching staff and strength and conditioning program. I've also visited The Citadel and I like their tradition and coaching staff."

The offensive tackle prospect will be taking some more visits soon to Furman and Army soon as well he informed us.

He graded out at 92% this season and had 19 pancake blocks this year. Last year he graded out at 94% and had 21 pancakes.

During his career he's seen many talented opponents but he said one in particular gave him the toughest challenge.

"Jaylen Miller of Gaffney because of his size and his speed."

Sullivan's talents haven't gone unnoticed either. He was selected to play in the SCADA North-South All Star game which is held in Myrtle Beach every year. He talked about his reaction to finding out he'd made the team this year.

"I feel honored and excited to show my abilities playing with the best athletes in the state. My mindset is to work hard and be prepared for anything."

Sullivan realizes there's just a few more months until Signing Day but he's still putting in work to prepare himself for the next level physically and mentally.

"I'm trying to put on more weight and continue to work on my strength and conditioning."

Academically Sullivan is one of the very best in the area as he holds a 4.25 GPA and received the prestigious West Point Leadership Award. He has been on the A-B Honor Roll all through his high school career.

Being on top of his game in the classroom Sullivan made it very clear what he's looking for in a potential college too.

"Education, location, and conference strength are going to be really important to me. I would like to major in business."

Will Sullivan hold off until Signing Day?

"If I find the right school I will make an early commitment."

Stay tuned as we'll keep you up to date with Sullivan's recruitment as he prepares for his week of North-South practices leading up to the game.
