Demetri McGill

News and Notes on some of the top prospects in the Atlantic Region.

Demetri McGill committed to Maryland recently. The Virginia Beach (Va.) Ocean Lakes defensive tackle chose the Terps over Cincinnati, East Carolina, James Madison, and Old Dominion. He is a three-star prospect and the 55th-ranked defensive tackle in the country.

Cardon Johnson committed to James Madison last week. The Newport News (Va.) Warwick running back chose James Madison over Old Dominion, Temple, and UNC-Charlotte.

Matthews (N.C.) Butler linebacker Sean Wiggins committed to Ball State on Monday night. He is the sixth Bulldog senior to commit to a Divison l school. Butler cornerback David Moore is also committed to the Cardinals.

Will Grier has a top five -- in order -- Florida, North Carolina, Tennessee, North Carolina State, and Oregon. The four-star signal-caller broke the national high school record for passing yards in a game a few weeks ago when he threw for 837 yard and tied another record with 10 touchdown passes.

Deshaywn Middleton's stock continues to rise. Duke is the most recent school to offer him. It is offer No. 7 for the Winston Salem (N.C.) Parkland defensive tackle.

Shameik Blackshear picked up his third scholarship offer on Monday from Clemson. The 2015 defensive end also has offers from North Carolina and South Carolina. The Bluffton (S.C.) star is going to be a big-time prospect.

Michael Bowman picked up offer No. 2 last Friday from North Carolina. The Havelock (N.C.) sophomore wide receiver also has an offer from South Carolina.
