| What the Falcons are getting in addition to an outstanding two-way lineman is an intense and focused weightlifter.
At 6-2,and 297 pounds, Karabin packs a big punch, according to veteran Greensburg Central Catholic coach Muzzy Colosimo.
"His strength is unbelievable," Colosimo said. "He has good feet. He's just a physical kid. He's as good a lineman that I've seen and as good as anyone we played against."
Karabin, who resides in Ruffs Dale in the Yough School District, squats 750 pounds. He is a constant in the Centurions' weight room and is an inspiration.
"Alex's work ethic is unbelievable," Colosimo said. "He did everything we asked of him and he is still doing that today.
"We rushed for 2,933 yards this past season," Colosimo said. "You can't do that as a team if you're not pretty good. We averaged more than 37 points per game. We ran behind Alex as much as we could. Really, we ran behind him all the time. I can't tell you how many times we've gone for it on fourth and short the last couple years. Each team we'd run behind him. I'd walk to the huddle in those situations and he'd just say, 'run it behind me.' That's what we did."
